Medical Missionaries 2025 Caring Hearts Online Auction was a wonderful success!

A warm thank you from Medical Missionaries to our incredible donors, friends, and supporters! Your generosity and kindness made our 2025 Caring Hearts Online Auction a remarkable success, raising over $3,000 for Medical Missionaries projects. Your support truly means the world to us, and we are grateful for your unwavering dedication.

Our auction has ended, but the opportunity to make a difference is ongoing. If you haven’t had a chance to contribute yet, it’s not too late to donate and continue impacting lives around the globe. Your donations, big or small, make a significant difference in the work we do. Thank you for considering extending your support!

Haiti

The news form Haiti continues to be very complicated. The government has been unable to manage the security situation. Gang influence has spread from Port-au-Prince to outlying towns.

Mirebalais, a city of around 200,000, was overrun by gangs. Many citizens ran away towards towns closer to the Dominican Republic, including Thomassique. The hospital at Mirebalais was shut down, with gangs stealing some of the equipment.

At St. Joseph Clinic in Thomassique, Haiti, we have been assisting refugees from Mirebalais. The clinic has been offering clothing and essential supplies to the arriving refugees. Recently, a team from St. Joseph Clinic visited the refugee encampment established by the Mirebalais refugees to conduct a mobile clinic.

As always, when things seem darkest, there is a ray of hope. As an example, St. Joseph Clinic has had over 40 births every month since January. We are also working with Partners In Health to acquire medications to send to the clinic.

Supplies and Equipment In and Out

Ukraine:  Ret. Col. Monte Dunard visited the Manassas office to pick up some items and then sent us this note:

Dr. Gil, thanks for the great supplies.  Boxed all of your donations and will be sent to Kyiv on Sunday.  Great items and really useful.

Monte

Medical Missionaries has pictures and videos of the Traveling Colonels on our website.   Col. Monte continues to record how your support has helped hundreds of injured civilians and soldiers

Cameroon, Africa: Medical Missionaries recently welcomed Emanuel, from Cameroon, Africa at our Manassas office. Emanuel stopped by to pick up supplies and equipment for the Enokpa Geriatric Association. Medical Missionaries provided dressings, orthopedic equipment, blood pressure monitors, stethoscopes, wheelchairs, rollators and walkers, among other items.

Our office team values connecting with individuals worldwide dedicated to uplifting their communities. Your donations are invaluable to us, as each item generously given serves a purpose for those in need. Thank you for your heartfelt contributions!

On a beautiful morning in mid-May, our volunteer team loaded a container bound for Cameroon, Africa. We had about a dozen volunteers show up to help. There were long time volunteers Pete and Alicia Silva as well as more recent volunteer Jonathan, who brought along his own team of friends.

Working together we were able to fill the container in less than three hours!!

Nigeria:  The Executive Director of Stewards of Hope Foundation, Father Canice Gnyiaka, visited our Manassas office recently. He thanked Dr. Gil Irwin and Medical Missionaries for the donations that we collected and sent in his container. Fr. Gnyiaka told our team that the donations went to 7 different clinics in Imo State, Nigeria.

We are thankful to Fr. Gnyiaka for coming in personally to meet with our team. It means so much for us to see the effect that the supplies we collected and sent have on the community.

We posted pictures from their visit on Facebook.

Pediatric Office, Leesburg, VA: Medical Missionaries was offered the opportunity to acquire medical supplies and equipment from a pediatric office in Leesburg that was closing. We collected scales, exam tables, blood pressure cuffs and other supplies.

Aside from the needed supplies, we also recruited two pediatricians, who expressed an interest in accompanying Dr. George Bazaco on his next medical misison trip to Dominican Republic. It will be a nice addition to have pediatricians as part of the medical mission trip, as we normally encounter many children at those clinics.
