We are founding the Medical Missionaries, POSC initially under the prayerful guidance of James Cardinal Hickey and Bishop Lori of Washington DC, and now we are an official branch of the Sisters, Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts. ii Praying the Liturgy of the Hours daily with joy and graditude (Luke 18:1) iii. Living the Liturgical Year to grow in holiness (John 14:12) . The fruits of the MPP faithful life: the Social Gospel in our lives, MMP community, service, evangelization, inculturation. (Lumen Gentium #11) iv. Daily Scripture Study and Scripture journaling in order to be Jesus’ healing presence (Luke 24) v. Historical development : Old and New Testament Spirituality that flows into the Great Fathers of the Church both East and West vi. Study of the Schools of Spirituality: listing St Anthony of the Desert, Augustian, Benedictine, Dominican, Franciscan, Ignatian vii. Daily personal prayer and meditation on the Gospel of the day to see Jesus in one another and in the sick and poor (Matthew 16:17 and Matthew 25: 31-46) viii. The place of our Holy Mother Mary and the Saints in our daily lives as examples to us of prayer devotion to the Eucharist, Spiritual Direction, and humble, cheerful, patient works of mercy bringing healing to the poorest of the poor (Vatican II- Universal Call to Holiness; Lumen Gentium, Chapter V, #39-41) ix. Understanding and living as an MM the five simple vows of Poverty, Chastity, Obedience, Free loving Medical Service to the Poorest of the Poor and Hospitality in our MM Community, Clinics, Hospitals, Operating Rooms, Parishes etc.(1 Corinthians 13) (Luke 10:29-37) The Gospel of Life (John Paul II # 87) |
